Arse! No coitus!!
Spot on!
I’m confused, is this guy a Christian?? Or does he try to disprove Christianity
“Their reflective cognition . . .” has atrophied due to lack of exercise.
So when people say white people have only been around for 7 thousand years can you explain why
Elon Musk and Smart is mutually exclusive.
And then the reflective cognition just comes _CYBERPUNK SOUNDTRACK_
As a social studies major and having been born and raised in Louisiana, this makes my heart hurt. The Mississippi River meandered in it's entire existence. From basically Houston to the Alabama Coast the course changed. Southern Louisiana's entire geography was formed primarily due to the Mississippi movement.
For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, And every tongue shall confess to God
It is utterly refreshing to have a very high quality religious scholar who is also scientifically literate. Way to go Dan!
Cannot wait for this!
Well, I am occasionally an intellectual, but Dan is so cute . . . I loss my focus.
Well put. Looking forward to this.
Deltas need rivers, rivers don't need deltas. It's that simple.
Oh, of course... I just knew the dude was one of the no-pronouns bros. Just, how dare Dan accept people for who they are, and be respectful of how they wish to be addressed. This lack of giving dignity to others among the christian right seems very VERY antithetical to what they ~claim~ to believe. I, personally, only now see political organizations in the sheep's clothing of religion, quote unquote 'ministry,' and theocratic xtian nationalism. Honestly, I feel sorry this guy has to be so hateful in the supposed name of his puny god.
The complete lack of logical reasoning among millions of people is terrifying....the sweeping claims like thise are exactly what made me start questioning my faith when i was in the Christian cult..i still feel shame and embarrassment for not questioning it ealier. Thank god for going away to university for many of us. Once you leave the bubble and open the door if logic, there is no going back...
The Jehu shirt made me smile. Love that band.
Another Septuagint legend: there was one word that, if translated literally, would have destroyed the meaning of the sentence. They all translated it according to the meaning in exactly the same way.
Isn't it 70 because 70 is the number for "the nations" and it's a translation into the common foreign language?
Come on. A D&d shirt?! Why are you more cool every time I see you?
It was most likely The Burckle Crater Mega Tsunami caused by The Taurid Meteor Stream and its radiant, The Pleiades, stated in The Talmud as instrumental in The Deluge.

Hey Dan totally agree. This covers all spectrums. As simple as when I follow a specific football team. Same thing. My question is in our on specific lives how do we balance things out? What questions should we ask ourselves. Is it just being aware? Appreciate..thanks.
Great video Dan - well as they say one man’s doctrine is another man’s heresy
Whoa! Awesome! It’s like the Batman joining the Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire Justice League!
“…You can’t really definitively prove much of anything at all regarding the interpretation or the authorship of ancient texts. All we’re doing is weighing probabilities.” I love this quote. Well said!
He sounds more and more like Peterson.
Well, no because Dan is intellectually honest and Peterson is not. Dan doesn't waffle over banal definitions and questions that are easily and directly answerable.
In what world has Dan said anything that sounds like Peterson?? This is an insane take.
@RogueBurger Peterson had an entire course on intuitive and reflective cognition. They both focus on the meaning of stories in their published literature. They both fully agree on the lack of univocality and the role that the Bible has played in society. They both state that Biblical creatures are a part of the psyche. Shall I go on?
@@ronjones1414If that is the case, then it's really interesting how Peterson and Dan come to such vastly different conclusions regarding their respective views of the Bible.
@Noneya5555 well, verifying my statements is relatively easy, just read a couple thousand pages of books and journal articles (just as much Dan's as Jordan's. ) What precisely is different in their Biblical views? I'd ask you to consider in addition to his scholarship what Dan's relationship with God is (watch videos of him in a suit, you learn much more about him than Dan in a t shirt.)
Let us look at some details regarding the story about Noah and the flood. Lets for a second ignore that it would require around 4 billion cubic kilometers of water to cover the planet to the highest peak. Lets just look at some other points. How did all the planets animals reach the middle east and the Ark? The animals in South America. The unique animals in Australia and other very far away locations. How did Noah construct a ship large enough to accommodate all those animals and feed for them all? How did the animals travel back to their original location after the flood? What did the herbivores eat? All plant life would be long dead. What did the carnivores eat? There wasn't any prey. These are just a few of the questions that will go unanswered and those do not include the scientific side of the story. Where did all the water come from? Where did it go?
I Want more. 🖖🏼
Maybe I’m just ignorant, why did you use the symbol for the Hebrew (Jewish) blessing? Or is it meant to be Vulcan form Star Trek? If so, how is that relevant? I’m very confused 😅
@@Tyler_Skye77 it was simply a gesture (Vulcan if you will) meaning Live Long and Prosper, directed at Dan and crew. It was not meant as a hand gesture relevant to the topic.
Is this the Zelph of Joseph Smith, Jr fame?
I believe Zelph on the Shelf is a channel run by former Latter Day Saint who discusses Mormon issues, so ywa
@@weirdlanguageguy Oh, cool. I didn’t know anything about that (or them). I was _wondering_ what a Zelph was 😅 Their name is Zelph, right?
@@Tyler_Skye77I'm pretty sure that the channel name Zelph on the shelf was from this account of Joseph Smith finding a buried skeleton on his march with zion's camp in 1834, "In early June when several camp members stopped near the Illinois River to investigate a mound, they came across three piles of stones that looked like possible alters, with bones scattered on the ground nearby. Digging about a foot, they found a skeleton with an arrow point stuck in its ribs. According to the account prepared under his direction, Joseph said: "The visions of the past being opend to my understanding by the Spirit of the Almighty. I discovered that the person whose Skeleton was before us was a white Lamanite, a large thick set man, and a man of God." Named Zelph, the man fought for "the great prophet Onandagus, who was known from the hill Cumorah, or eastern sea, to the Rocky Mountains." According to Joseph, Zelph had his hip broken by a rock flung from a swing during the last great battle between Lamanites and Nephites." - Richard Bushman, Rough Stone Rolling pg. 240-241. I think the shelf part is a reference to this idea of the 'shelf'. In the exmormon and mormon community, you put all your questions and disturbing facts on a 'shelf' but when it 'breaks' that's when you decide to leave the church. So how I think the channel name was created that way. Probably more explanation than what you wanted but if I tortured myself with reading 478 pages of Rough Stone Rolling I'll share my expertise where I've gained it.
@@Tyler_Skye77 so according to him it’s a channel name; the name, Zelph, in Mormon history, refers to a person Joseph Smith, Jr (founding prophet of Mormonism) claimed lived ancient in the Americas. I’ll leave it to you to google it, if you are so inclined.
@@Tyler_Skye77 Zelph is the putative name of n ancient Native American skeleton that Joseph Smith discovered and claimed was a lamanite, while “on the shelf” is a common idiom used by struggling and former Mormons for the buildup of difficult issues that undermine faith, so I gather it’s a play on words
Someone needs to look up the the “Nick” logo looks a lot like Epstein Island. And the main producer was busted for child molesting. Please look it up

It's called the septuagint because it was completed exactly 70 years to the day before Christ was born.

Glad to see a critique like this. You made that guy your dog!
Could you move the camera closer so we see your retinas even better? Could you quote some sources and breathe between sentences? How’s that anti-christing going?
Just kidding. I would subscribe because you are interesting but my youtube suggestions would get even stupider.
Obviously Jesus and the ancient Jews/Israelites were the color of the other native people groups that lived in the land, and it wasn't black and most definitely not white.
Can you clarify on Romans 1? That seems cut and dry.
Must have a strong back carrying the human race toward an objective understanding of the text. Read enough of the Bible and you won't believe it anymore.
Another example of a moving delta --- in Abraham's time, Ur was on the coast, and the Tigris and Euphrates flowed separately into the Persian Gulf.
Hadn't thought of this before, but how far back does the name go? The NT authors wouldn't have called it that right? Was there a Greek version of the name? In the NT, they seem to just refer generically to "the scriptures" or sometimes to a particular book.
The Monty python reference makes me want to see an episode describing how much of Life of Brian was historical. I liked the multiple messiahs.
Its a crime that people are temporary, local beeings, cause everytime someone brings up Noahs Flood as an Argument for Young Earth Creationism, Gutsick Gibbon should kick their door down and shout:"HEAT PROBLEM! YOU EVER HEARD OF THE HEAT PROBLEM?"
Oreos are so delicious.
For me being taught a fundamentalist literal reading of genesis is what pushed me away from Christianity. I couldn't understand how a global flood was possible, but didn't want to look ignorant in front of my class, so set about researching on my own. Of course I found unending problems with a literal global flood and that lead to numerous other problems with the bible and Christianity and eventually I had to admit I had no faith and realised I was an atheist.
Wow, Dan. Thank you! I now ~finally~ understand the crux of the translation which you've shared here with your followers and how it applies differently to the other creator, and pretty much everyone else like them. So much appreciated!
